Happy Holiday's

The Monocacy Chapter of TU would like to wish all of it's members and their families a happy Holiday Season.

The Chapter would also like to share some of our accomplishments and some upcoming events to watch for.[...]

This past year your Chapter has:
  • Had a very successful Stream Clean Up day in April
  • Organized a clean-up day after Musikfest in the City
  • Supported the re-organization of the Monocacy Creek Watershed Association
  • Assisted with the Hokendauqua Chapter Project Healing Water event
  • Started a water quality monitoring program ( link )
  • Hosted a Marcellus Shale 101 presentation ( link to presentation )
  • Assisted with Stream Cleanups in the Archibald Johnson Conservation Area
  • Supported the City of Bethlehem in its efforts to remove a dam in the Colonial Industrial Quarter  and rebuild Illick's Mill Park
  • Applied for the Coldwater Heritage Partnership grant to support the city's dam removal project
  • Elected new President, Erik Broesicke and Treasurer, Dr. Ed Hart III
  • Continued to monitor new housing/ commercial developments along the Monocacy Creek
Some things to look forward to in 2013:
  • Member survey that will be distributed via e-mail, in web form, and with our annual letter
  • Participate in our combined LV Spring Event Meeting ( presentations and huge raffle)
  • Annual Stream Clean Up
  • The removal of a dam in the city (same as above)
  • Improvements to Illick's Mill Park
  • A Trout in the Class Room project
  • Members Fishing Day at private stocked pond!
  • A full schedule of programs at our monthly meetings in the DAR log cabin. (4th Tuesday of the Month)

As you can see, your Monocacy Chapter continues to be active in the community and as an advocate for the creek. Please consider joining us at a monthly meeting or for stream projects.
Happy Holiday's!
