Theodore Burger
February 16, 1935-October 25, 2023
Monocacy TU members,
The Monocacy Chapter lost a dear friend and dedicated conservationist on October 25th. Ted had many accomplishments in his life, (which you can read about in the official obituary below) but we knew him as a passionate angler who was generous with his time, knowledge and warm smile. There is no doubt he will be missed by many. From the Monocacy Chapter, Godspeed and Thanks Doc.
Theodore
Burger peacefully passed away on a beautiful October morning. As a
former flight surgeon, physician, and educator, he lived a long and
productive life by helping those in need. A devoted fly fisherman,
woodworker, gardener, and outdoorsman, he could be found feeding the
area deer and birds, but also cursing at the hungry squirrels that stole
all of the bird food. His unique sense of humor and famous quip,
"You'll see, you'll see," will be missed by those who loved him which
include his devoted and caring wife, of which he shared 59 years of
marriage, two daughters and their husbands, and three beautiful
grandchildren. Though known by many, Teddy was a solitary man and so the
family plans on a private memorial to honor his life. In lieu of
flowers, contributions can be made to the Temple/St. Luke's School of
Medicine at slhn.org or to Shriner's Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at donate.lovetotherescue.org .
