End of Season Schedule

 As we wind down the Spring portion of our schedule, the Monocacy Chapter would like to thank everyone who participated in our meetings and events, and we hope you will join us again.

Annual Stream Clean up, April 13th:

April 23rd: Monthly Membership meeting, 7pm DAR Log Cabin.  Program TBD

April 29, 2024 PA DEP Public hearing: 6:00—9:00 pm Nitschmann Middle School, 1002 West Union Blvd, Bethlehem, PA 18018. 

Public hearing to accept additional comments on the documentation and plans associated with the Individual NPDES Permit Application No. PAD480196 for the discharge of stormwater from construction activities to the following receiving watercourses: Monocacy Creek.

This permit is associated with the planned conversion of the hotel at rt 191 and rt 22 into a warehouse.

If you wish to submit comments or make a public comment, you must follow the steps outlined here: 

The Department requests that individuals wishing to testify at the hearing submit a written notice of intent to Colleen Connolly, Community Relations Coordinator at: coconnolly@pa.gov. The Department will accept requests up to the day of the hearing. The Department requests that individuals limit their testimony to 5 minutes so that all individuals have the opportunity to testify. The Department can only review comments made with regard to the NPDES Permit Application No. PAD480196 documentation and plans. Written copies of oral testimony are requested. All comments, whether delivered orally during the hearing or submitted in writing will carry equal weight and consideration with DEP. Individuals attending the hearing will have the opportunity to testify if they so desire; however, individuals who preregister to testify will be given priority on the agenda.

May 28th : Fishing the Evening Hatch 7PM Illick's Mill Parking lot 

Round out the Spring meeting season with an evening fishing the Sulpher Hatch on Monocacy Creek.  A great opportunity to learn techniques from our most experienced chapter members, or just tell stories of the one that got away!
