Last nights meeting was a fantastic look at some styles of fly fishing that most of us may consider to be something to do to pass the time between hatches.  Although streamer and nymph fishing is experiencing a Renaissance of sorts, it is still an afterthought for most fisherman.  Last night we learned that very often, this is the way to catch more and BIGGER fish. February 26 Chapter Meeting; Advanced Subsurface Fly Fishing Techniques


Fly Fishing Workshop: Advanced Subsurface Fly Fishing Techniques
An overview of the teaching materials used from an NCC class covering advanced fly fishing techniques with nymph and streamer flies. Topics to be covered include “situational fishing”, equipment setup, reading the water, fly selection, and approach/presentation techniques with specialty casts. Demonstrations of fly tying nymphs & streamer flies will be performed, as well as knot & leader construction for this type of fly fishing.
